BIRNS Coaxial ConnectorBIRNS' Class A coaxial connector transmits GPS-frequency data streams in a coaxial format, with minimal signal noise or attenuation, precluding any discontinuous impedance changes in the 'transition zone' between the cable and the coaxial insert. It differs from other coax connectors because it uses a high-quality polyethylene dielectric, yet nonetheless withstands open-face pressure. The BIRNS Coaxial connector features a removable, replaceable connector insert, and its polyethylene dielectric provides superior signal characteristics. While any user of underwater coaxial cabling can use this product, users with high-frequency (>1 GHz) requirements will especially benefit from the higher data rates, reduced system signal attenuation and superior signal-to-noise ratio available with the BIRNS Coaxial connector. BIRNS Coaxial connectors are presently available in the 3P size of BIRNS' Millennium series, but plans are underway to expand the range of available sizes.
