The BIRNS Polymeric Connectors comprise "Standard Epoxy" and "Protected Epoxy" versions, and are molded of a rigid high-strength dielectric Glass Reinforced Epoxy (GRE).

BIRNS Standard Epoxy connectors (at right) are simple, low-cost bulkhead connectors for basic applications. Proven and reliable, these bulkhead connectors mate with cable connectors in the Rubber Series, and offer:

  1. Low cost
  2. Excellent corrosion resistance
  3. Light weight
  4. Minimal magnetic signature
  5. Gold-plated contacts
  6. Insulated solder pots
  7. Heat-treated beryllium copper sockets

BIRNS Standard Epoxy connectors are available in 3 sizes:

Size A - one contact
Size G - up to 6 contacts
Size K - up to 8 contacts

BIRNS Protected Epoxy connectors (at left) combine benefits of GRE with attributes of the
Metal Shell series, and offer higher pin density than other non-metallic connectors. Bulkhead connectors feature recessed pins protected from mechanical impact; cable connectors feature captivated coupling rings. BIRNS Protected Epoxy connectors use dual o-rings for effective sealing, withstand open-face pressure, and offer:
  1. BIRNS' exclusive solder pot features
  2. Low cost
  3. Excellent corrosion resistance
  4. Light weight
  5. Minimal magnetic signature
  6. Higher pin density than any other non-metallic connector series
  7. Gold-plated contacts
  8. Insulated solder pots
  9. Heat-treated beryllium copper sockets

BIRNS Protected Epoxy connectors are available in 4 sizes:

Size J - up to 9 contacts
Size EE - up to 12 contacts
Size L - up to 20 contacts
NEW! Size M 24 contacts
BIRNS Polymeric connectors are rated up to 500 volts between adjacent contacts, independent of contact size.
