The BIRNS Articuleg, Model 7703, is an articulating electromagnet which provides a temporary magnetic field in underwater steel structures during Magnetic Particle Inspection to find cracks and weld defects. Generating over 20 Kg of "pull", the articulating legs of the Articuleg adjust to round or uneven surfaces, getting into areas that fixed-leg "prods" can't reach. Complete with 1.8-meter "coil cord" cable with metal shell connector, the BIRNS Articuleg is part of the BIRNS Blackbirn-I, Model 7701 MPI system.
