BIRNS Aquamate connectors are excellent for medium power or signal use, or when weight and/or mechanical abuse are considerations. This rugged series is molded of a durable high-insulation material that cannot chip or dent, and may be mated while wet or underwater. Circular and Low Profile formats are available, as are our new Mini-Connector and Flat (FL) and FAWL designs. Male and female connectors are available in bulkhead and in-line configurations. Internal stress members, heat-treated BeCu sockets, gold plating, and stainless steel bodies are standard; options include water-blocking and locking sleeves of durable plastic or stainless steel.

  1. Standard Circular (SC) Connectors are the original "workhorse" of the BIRNS Aquamate series. They are available in 2 to 12 contact pin configurations in both Bulkhead and In-Line (cable) configurations, in 3 sizes:

    1. Size "A" : 2 to 5 pins
    2. Size "B" : 6 to 10 pins
    3. Size "C" : 12 pins

    Delrin locking sleeves are available for each size.

  2. Low Profile (LP) are excellent for applications requiring a low profile, right-angle connector (but for more rugged use and heavier current than the FL series). The BIRNS Aquamate LP utilizes the same #11 pins as the SC and is available in 2 to 9 contact pin configurations, in 4 sizes. Various insert stem lengths are available for bulkhead connectors.

    1. LP-22   : 2 pins
    2. LP-25A : 2 to 4 pins
    3. LP-25B : 6 to 7 pins
    4. LP-32   : 9 pins

  3. Mini-Connectors (MC) utilize proven BIRNS Aquamate technology in response to today's increasing demand for miniaturization. The MC has an important advantage: the bulkhead connector has an integral mating thread, so only one locking sleeve is required.

    BIRNS Aquamate Mini-Connectors are available in 2 to 16 contact pin configurations in both Bulkhead and In-Line (cable) configurations, in 2 sizes:

    1. Size "O" : 2 to 8 pins
    2. Size "A" : 9 to 16 pins

  4. Flat (FL) and FAWL are for applications requiring a miniature, right-angle connector. Read Data Sheet FL-1-0801.

    1. FAWL: for full compatibility with other manufacturers' units
    2. FL: incorporates a heavier Ø2mm (Ø5/64") pin for more robust duty and greater current load
